By means of an adjustable lumbar support the backrest curvature of the seats can be adjusted to suit the personal requirements of the driver and passenger, thereby improving ergonomics and seating comfort.

Two air cushions are integrated into both front seats; they can be inflated or deflated as desired through two control valves to give individually adjusted support for the lumbar spine. The air cushions can also be adjusted for height. The adjustable lumbar support is operated via a 4-way switch on the outer surface of the cushion.

The Stowage package offers a host of useful organisational aids for driver and front and rear passengers. It comprises a spectacles compartment in the overhead control panel, stowage compartments under the front seats, luggage nets on the back of the front seats and a luggage net in the front passenger's footwell.

The power front passenger's seat allows convenient and individual adjustment of the seating position. The Memory function allows up to three individual positions of the seat to be stored and retrieved. This is particularly convenient for frequently changing front passengers.

For convenient loading and unloading the EASY-PACK liftgate can be opened and closed at the push of a button. To prevent the liftgate from hitting anything, it can be stopped in any position and its opening angle can be restricted to roof level.

This restriction of the opening angle is set by pressing and holding the closing button. The liftgate is closed by pushing a button on the bottom edge of the liftgate. If any part of the load obstructs the closing, the process is stopped automatically.Manual opening and closing is possible at any time using the release handle on the liftgate.

The windows can opened and closed electrically with switches in the armrests of the doors. An automatic reverse function prevents injury and damage when closing the windows.The switches in the driver's door control all windows.

The air conditioning system has a heating and ventilation system and a refrigeration system. Depending on the pre-selected temperature and the desired air distribution the air is heated, or if the air conditioning is switched on it can be cooled.

The air distribution can be set for the windscreen, upper body or legs via three switches. A dust filter filters the fresh air and improves the air quality. The air conditioning system also offers an air-recirculation mode with convenience function, which upon the push of a button automatically closes all windows and the roof.

To keep the windows from fogging, air-recirculation mode is automatically switched back to external ventilation under certain circumstances. When the refrigerant compressor is switched off or the outside temperature is below about 7 degrees Celsius this happens after five minutes and after 30 minutes if the outside temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius.

The two-zone automatic climate control system always provides a personal feel-good climate on board. Driver and front passenger can adjust the temperature independently of each other. Sensors automatically keep the climate at the desired level.

Net pockets on the left and right as well as a folding box below the load compartment floor provide organisation and safety in the load compartment. The backrests of the rear bench seat can be tilted up by 15 degrees for optimal use of the load compartment.

With its large glazed areas, this roof system ensures a particularly bright and welcoming ambience in the interior.

It consists of a fixed panoramic glass rear section and an electrically operated sliding glass front section for ventilation of the interior as required.

When the sunroof is opened using the switch, the wind deflector is raised. Then the sunroof is raised upwards and slides back over the fixed glass roof section at the rear. In addition, two electric roller sunblinds provide shade for the passengers in bright sunshine.

On cold days the seat heating for driver and front passenger quickly provides cosy warmth as desired. The occupants each have a choice between three heating levels at the push of a button.

Three red control lamps in the operating switches indicate the activated level. After about eight minutes the system switches automatically from level 3 to level 2, after about ten minutes from level 2 to level 1. The heating is switched off automatically from level 1 after about 20 minutes, and when the battery capacity is too low. To manually switch of seat heating, the operating switch is simply pushed repeatedly until all red control lamps go out.

The Seat Comfort package improves seat comfort on journeys, both long and short, by providing the seats with more options for ergonomic individualisation and for adjustment to the desired seat position.

This includes the convenient height adjustment for front passenger's seat and the seat cushion angle adjustment for the driver's and front passenger's seat.

Standard equipment in conjunction with one of the design and equipment lines Style, Urban and AMG Line, as well as for the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC and the Exclusive package.

Both exterior mirrors can be power-adjusted and -folded at the push of a button to protect the mirror housing against damages, for instance during parking. For improved vision and visibility the exterior mirror on the driver's side and the interior mirror automatically dim continuously.

The vehicle interior can be warmed up or ventilated even before the start of the journey with the optional auxiliary heater – using a programmable timer or the optional remote control. In winter this eliminates the need for time-consuming scraping of iced-up windows. The fuel-driven system operates independent of the engine.
