Innovative drive system for an emission-free future.

Hybrid drive is a true alternative and the right step towards a future of emission-free driving. This alternative system drive meets all the requirements for a engine for the S-Class, but it can do so much more. It delivers a high system output and operates very eco-friendly. An electrifying alternative.

  • Technical innovations: with its optimised aerodynamics, kinetic energy recuperation, low rolling-resistance tyres, reduced consumption and CO2 emissions, this S-Class is one of the most efficient luxury saloons in the world
  • So much comfort: the S 400 HYBRID offers the driving comfort you are accustomed to, all the boot capacity you want and a luxurious ambience in the interior.
  • So much power: The combined drive system of combustion engine and electric motor accelerates with a rated torque of up to 370 Newton metres from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds; its top speed is 250 km/h. The boost function makes it possible to use the power from both engines for short periods of acceleration.
  • Innovative power supply: the electric motor is fed by a lithium ion battery.
  • Complete control: when braking, the battery is charged by the recuperative brake system. A hybrid display in the instrument cluster and in the COMAND display shows the current status of energy flow from the electric motor or combustion engine.
