The optionally available COMAND APS multimedia system combines several functions in a single device, offering you the greatest ease of operation. The new generation of the COMAND APS lets you more easily control the radio, DVD player, navigation system and phone. It also lets you operate the optional Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound system, the optional 6-disc DVD changer or the TV tuner (also optional). The navigation system works with the Global Positioning System (GPS) and hard-disk navigation. And if you like, the radio and navigation system will obey your every word – you can operate them with the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system (standard in conjunction with COMAND APS).
Another service offered in Germany and some other European countries is dynamic route guidance. It uses traffic information provided by radio stations to guide you around tailbacks where there is an alternative route.
