THERMATIC automatic climate control with two climate zones provides individual climate control. Separate options for temperature, air flow and air distribution are available for each side. The air is cooled or heated automatically according to setting.

THERMATIC keeps the climate in each zone automatically constant at the desired levels. Several sensors ensure this, registering, e.g. interior and outside temperature, but also sun incidence. A sensor for air quality and noxious gases permanently monitors the quality of the exterior air drawn in.

In the event of increased noxious pollutants, the system automatically switches to air recirculation. In addition a fine-dust/activated carbon filter further enhances the air quality in the vehicle interior. It filters dust, soot and pollen from the air and also reduces pollutants and unpleasant odours. To effectively prevent windows misting up, a dewpoint sensor measures the absolute air humidity at the windscreen.

With its large glazed areas, this roof system ensures a particularly bright and welcoming ambience in the interior. It consists of a fixed panoramic glass rear section and an electrically operated sliding glass front section for ventilation of the interior as required.

In addition, two electric roller sunblinds provide shade for the passengers from bright sunshine. Numerous practical functions of the panoramic sliding roof ensure a high level of ride comfort. For instance, in the raised position the glass roof automatically adopts one of three levels to adapt to the current vehicle speed.

At high speeds the glass roof descends. Sound levels and air circulation in the vehicle interior are thus reduced. Conversely, the roof is raised at low speeds again. And the panoramic sliding roof also reacts automatically to rain: If it is opened, it automatically goes into the raised position, preventing water ingress into the vehicle interior. When the vehicle is stationary the panoramic sliding sun roof can be opened and closed from the outside, too.

The new C-Class Coupé is fitted with specially designed coupé seats including integrated head restraints and individual rear seats. As well as being style-defining, the seat design offers optimum support, even during sporty driving, and at the same time perfect ergonomics.

Ergonomic coupé seats await driver and front passenger. They are upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather and fabric; ARTICO man-made leather or high-end sporty single-tone or two-tone designo leather upholstery is optionally available.

Both the seat cushion height and the backrest inclination are electrically adjustable at the push of a button. Heated or  climate-controlled seats or fully power-adjustable seats (in conjunction with optional Memory package) are optionally available.

The executive lounge character of the interior is also reflected in the rear seats. The ergonomic rear seats with single-seat character feature integrated head restraints. The asymmetrically split and folding rear seat backrest is included as standard (optional extra for the C 180) as is the manual EASY-ENTRY entry and exit aid.

Black piano-lacquer trim tastefully rounds off the interior design. The trim for the dashboard, centre console and doors is also optionally available in matt brown ash or aluminium with dark longitudinal grain. The C-Class Coupé is also available as an option with AMG carbon-fibre trim.
