The all-new modified transmission ratio in the C 320 CDI which has been tuned specifically to handle the impressive 510 Nm of torque.

And if you prefer, the C-Class will shift gear for you. The electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission can judge people to perfection and adjusts to your personal driving style – sporty or comfortable. To shift up or down manually, you simply need to nudge the selector lever right or left. You can get the 5-speed automatic transmission as an optional extra for the 4-cylinder models.

The highlight of our transmission technology is standard in C 320 CDI 4MATIC, C 350 and C 63 AMG – and optional for all other 6-cylinder models: the 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission. Seven forward gears constantly provide optimum engine speed and deliver virtually imperceptible gear changes. When changing down, the 7G-TRONIC – unlike other automatic transmissions – delivers extra-fast mid-range sprints by skipping individual gears. By simply nudging the selector lever, you can also shift gear manually.
