How to shift gears faster? Let the car do it for you. The 5-speed automatic transmission is available as an option for all 4-cylinder models (not for BlueEFFICIENCY models). It can judge people to perfection and adjusts - sporty or comfortable - to your personal driving style. To change up or down manually, you simply need to nudge the selector lever to the right or left.

The highlight of our transmission technology is standard in the C 350, C 63 AMG and all the 4MATIC models - and optional for all other 6-cylinder models: the 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission. Seven forward gears constantly provide optimum engine speed and deliver virtually imperceptible gear changes. When changing down, the 7G-TRONIC - unlike other automatic transmissions - delivers extra-fast mid-range sprints by skipping individual gears. By simply nudging the selector lever, you can also shift gears manually.
