


Mercedes-Benz multimedia and audio systems enhance driving pleasure and guide you safely to your destination.
Audio 20 CD provides entertainment and can be optionally equipped with an integrated 6-disc CD changer. It is operated via the multifunction steering wheel and also includes loudspeakers chosen to match the vehicle interior. The system comes with an extensive range of equipment, including a 14.7-cm colour display, CD player and telephone keypad. Bluetooth® now makes it possible to display text messages and to stream music from a device to the radio. The classic hands-free operation mode is obligatory in this context.

With the Becker® MAP PILOT it is possible to upgrade the Audio 20 CD radio, fitted as standard, to a full-function navigation system. The Digital Owner’s Manual gives users the option of calling up information on operating their vehicle on the COMAND Online system. This describes the operation of the vehicle and of the COMAND Online system. The system can be found in the COMAND Online multimedia system under the globe symbol. The system is controlled via the COMAND Controller on the centre console, information is easily accessible to the driver and can be found via a visual or a keyword search. Depending on the market variant of the head unit, the user can retrieve information in up to 17 languages.

An additional roof aerial is used for the DAB digital radio. This provides improved reception at near CD quality, a broader selection of stations, as well as more detailed programme and traffic information. Switching between analogue and digital reception is automatic according to network coverage and signal strength. | |
Great entertainment for rear-seat passengers comes courtesy of the rear-seat entertainment system. Featuring two 20.3-cm TFT colour screens on the front-seat head restraints, integrated DVD player as well as two sets of headphones and two or three Aux-In ports, you can watch movies or connect a game console while on the road. The Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound system with Dolby Digital 5.1 and an output of 610 watts turns every journey into an acoustic experience. Fourteen high-performance speakers and the Logic 7® multi-channel surround sound technology provide a three-dimensional sound impression. The automatic volume control adapts the sound in line with the car’s current speed. All you need for convenience telephony is the Mercedes-Benz head unit with screen, a compatible mobile phone and a cradle to connect your phone to the exterior aerial via a fixed interface in the centre console. The integrated Bluetooth® interface allows wireless interaction with a compatible mobile phone. The functions of your phone can be accessed via the screen. Incoming text messages can also be displayed here. And if you want to make a call, you can select your contact safely and intuitively using the control unit. A charging function and improved reception quality via a connection to the exterior aerial also add to the features offered by this range of equipment. | |
The Media Interface with consumer cable kit is a universal interface in the glove compartment used to connect mobile audio/video devices while you’re on the road. You can comfortably access a USB stick, for example, or your iPod® using the vehicle’s control and display units. | |
The TV receiver enables television viewing during driving breaks: The receiver unit processes the digital signals in DVB-T standard and is controlled using the COMAND Online multimedia system, whose display is positioned in the driver’s central field of vision and also shows the image. Sound output is via the vehicle's speaker system. The receiving aerial is integrated in the rear window. At speeds above approx. 6 km/h, the image is switched off for safety reasons and reappears when the speed falls below this limit.
