A high-performance climate control system was developed to ensure a consistently pleasant climate in such a spacious interior. Included as standard with the R-Class, THERMATIC automatic climate control with combination filter enables separate climate zones to be set for the driver and front-passenger areas.

Another option is THERMOTRONIC luxury automatic climate control. This system allows you to set three separate climate zones for driver, front passenger and the rear-passenger compartment. You can even adjust them from the second seat row.

A 12 V power socket is provided on the rear face of the centre console. Here you will also find the controls for additional rear-compartment air conditioning (only in conjunction with THERMOTRONIC luxury automatic climate control). Featuring separate air and temperature control, this system delivers all the advantages of THERMOTRONIC and ensures even more climate comfort in the rear compartment.

The optional climatised seats for driver and front passenger deliver a pleasant air flow and selectable seat heating to improve ride comfort on longer trips and reduce transpiration. Integrated in the seat upholstery are fans which uniformly distribute the airflow under the leather backrest and seat cushion covers. Air flows through the fine perforation and quickly cools down the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature - even if the vehicle has been heated by intense sunlight for a long period of time. On cold days, you can turn on the three-level adjustable seat heating. Together with the airflow, this helps to dry wet clothes faster.
