Three different exhaust systems are available for the E-Class Coupé: the 4-cylinder models are fitted with an oval tailpipe, the 6-cylinder models with two oval tailpipes. The 8-cylinder engine in the E 500 also has a dual-pipe exhaust system. As a differentiating feature, a trapezoidal pipe is integrated in the bumper cover.

The catalytic converter for the petrol models and particulate filter for the diesel models are compulsory.
