DISTRONIC PLUS incl. BAS PLUS and PRE-SAFE® brake[3] The optional DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control system uses short and long-range sensors to maintain the desired distance from the vehicle ahead. The system is active at speeds of between 0 and 200 km/h and is also helpful in city traffic or stop-and-go traffic as the sensors can operate between 0.2 and 200 metres. Should a vehicle ahead brake quickly or the Coupé approach an obstacle, the PRE-SAFE® brake can initiate partial braking. The system is backed up by the DISTRONIC PLUS radar sensors, which can identify a potential collision. BAS PLUS Brake Assist can also support driver braking according to the current scenario.
Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) with tow-away protection and interior monitoring
PARKTRONIC parking aid incl. Parking Guidance and parking space measurement When parking or looking for a parking space, the driver can call on the assistance of the PARKTRONIC system. Ultrasonic sensors automatically measure the length of parking spaces parallel to the car when moving at a speed of 30 km/h or less. If a suitable space is found, Parking Guidance then provides precise instructions on the correct steering angle and points at which to turn.
Speed Limit Assist[4] The system can identify the speed limits shown on road signs and display the permitted maximum speed in the instrument cluster. This is particularly useful on stretches of road with frequently changing traffic signs or along routes with road works. Speed Limit Assist also aligns the displayed speed limits with the data stored in the navigation system.

Light package comprising Intelligent Light System with bi-xenon headlamps, LED daytime driving lamps, headlamp cleaning system and adaptive Highbeam Assist The light package incorporates the Intelligent Light System, which improves visibility in dark conditions by adjusting its bi-xenon headlamps to the current driving situation. Illumination is wider on a country road, for example, while on motorways the range is increased significantly. The system also features enhanced fog lamps as well as active light and cornering light functions, LED daytime driving lamps and adaptive Highbeam Assist. This helps you to detect pedestrians, cyclists or other obstacles earlier than with conventional low-beam headlamps. The system reduces glare for other road users and optimises road illumination. A camera is used to control headlamp range adjustment and the main beams in such a way that the road receives optimum illumination in line with the current driving scenario and the road users ahead. The main beams are automatically switched on if no other road users are detected. This ensures that abrupt changes in light intensity are avoided and replaced instead by gentle transitions.

Telephony, entertainment and navigation

Audio 50 APS map navigation system The Audio 50 APS map-based navigation system is equipped with a CD/DVD player and telephone keypad. It can be operated via the multifunction steering wheel and the controller. Navigation is based on a 2D map representation on a 5.8 inch colour display. The automatic traffic jam tracker can help you to avoid traffic hazards and congested routes.
Audio 50 APS map navigation system with DVD changer and LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system The Audio 50 APS map-based navigation system is equipped with an integrated 6-disc CD changer and telephone keypad. It can be operated via the multifunction steering wheel and the controller. Navigation is based on a 2D map representation on a clear 5.8 inch colour display. The automatic traffic jam tracker (TMC) can help you find alternative routes in the event of traffic congestion. The microphone for mobile telephone pre-installation allows for hands-free talking. The system also accepts voice commands through LINGUATRONIC.

COMAND APS multimedia system incl. LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system The COMAND APS multimedia system is the central control unit for all telematics components. It features a rapid hard-disk navigation system with map representation (Birdview, 3D places of interest), an automatic traffic jam tracker (TMC Pro) and a 7 inch colour display. The system’s entertainment functions include a radio, an MP3-compatible CD/DVD player, an equalizer with speed-sensitive volume control, and the MUSIC REGISTER with 6 GB hard disk for storing digital music files. An Aux-In connection in the glove compartment, a slot for SD memory cards and a Bluetooth® interface provides connections to external data devices and a mobile telephone. The Gracenote® database also supplies information on album and artist for CDs and DVDs. And the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system allows you to operate COMAND APS using voice entry.
Harman Kardon® Logic7® surround-sound system The Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound system with Dolby Digital 5.1/DTS, 450 W output and twelve high-performance speakers (incl. subwoofer) delivers outstanding sound characteristics. The speed-sensitive volume control continually adjusts the volume to the vehicle speed to guarantee a consistent sound impression at all times.
TV tuner (for analogue and digital reception) The TV tuner allows for television viewing during driving breaks: the receiver unit processes both analogue and digital signals and is controlled via the COMAND multimedia system, which houses a 6.5 inch screen. The audio signal is fed through the vehicle’s speaker system. The receiving aerial is integrated in the rear window. From a speed of approx. 6 km/h, the image is switched off for safety reasons and reappears only when the speed falls below this limit again.

THERMOTRONIC 3-zone luxury automatic climate control[2] THERMOTRONIC creates an optimum interior climate using separate temperature controls for different parts of the vehicle. The driver, front passenger and rear passengers can travel in complete comfort at the temperatures of their choice. The 3-zone system is activated at the touch of a button and operates fully automatically. In addition to individual temperatures, the climate styles DIFFUSE, MEDIUM and FOCUS are available. THERMOTRONIC keeps the desired temperature constant at all times and uses sensors to take other exterior factors such as sunlight, air quality and humidity into account.
KEYLESS-GO drive authorisation system KEYLESS-GO is an electronic drive authorisation system, which allows the driver to unlock or start the vehicle without having to use a key. The driver need only carry the KEYLESS-GO key with transponder and pull the door handle. Pressing the start/stop button starts the car.
Leather upholstery (leather or nappa leather)
Memory package incl. electric 4-way lumbar support and PRE-SAFE® positioning function for front passenger seat[2] The memory package makes frequent switches between drivers much more convenient. It stores individual settings for the driver’s seat and front-passenger seat for up to three people. The driver simply chooses a setting at the push of a button and the seats (including both electrically adjustable four-way lumbar supports), steering column and exterior mirrors are automatically restored to the previously saved positions. The PRE-SAFE® positioning function can also move the front-passenger seat into a more favourable crash position in critical situations.

Heated front seats
Climatised front seats, ventilated and heated[5] The climatised seats improve ride comfort and reduce transpiration thanks to a pleasant air flow and selectable seat heating. Fans integrated in the seat upholstery uniformly distribute a flow of air in three intensity levels under the leather backrest and cushion covers. The air flows through the fine perforation and quickly cools the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature – even if the vehicle has been heated by an intense amount of sunlight for a longer period of time. On cold days you can turn on the three-level adjustable seat heating.
