The many stowage options in the passenger compartment help you stay organised and on top of things. The stowage boxes under the front seats and the luggage nets for the rear footwells make sure of this.
| | Cabriolet Comfort package With the Cabriolet Comfort package open-top driving becomes an absolute joy. Innovative technology provides even more driving enjoyment and an extended cabrio season. The package comprises two components. AIRCAP consists of an air deflector module in front with electric operation in the roof frame and a draught-stop between the rear head restraints. By channelling the airflow over the vehicle when driving with the top down, the system developed by Mercedes-Benz considerably reduces both draughts and turbulence for passengers. This increases the ride comfort at the push of a button, particularly in the rear, and a reduced noise level facilitates communication.
AIRSCARF neck-level heating extends the cabriolet season – and allows driving with an open top even when the exterior temperature is low. At the push of a button propellers on the reverse sides of the head restraints draw in air, which is then heated and blown out again through a vent in the front of the seat. It warms the neck and throat like an invisible scarf.
| | Anti-theft protection package The Anti-Theft Protection package combines various items of equipment which help to protect the vehicle from break-ins, theft and unauthorised towing. It includes the EDW alarm system with tow-away protection and the interior monitoring system. An alarm sounds in case of theft or unauthorised entry into the vehicle as soon as the system is activated via the remote during locking. Only with authorisation: The system triggers an alarm if an unauthorised person opens one of the vehicle doors, tailgate or bonnet. The alarm also sounds if the ignition lock is shorted/removed or the foot brake applied.
In case of movement: The tow-away protection function responds to a change in the position of the vehicle and can be deactivated – for example, if the car is being towed or loaded onto another vehicle
| | Driving Assistance Plus package[1] The best possible safety when driving in city centres, on country roads and on the motorway: the different assistance and safety systems are quite unique in this combination and quality. Insurance companies recognise the active contribution made to general road safety by offering discounts on premiums. This package gives the driver support in driving safely, braking, parking and manoeuvring. The driver and vehicle occupants feel particularly safe and comfortable as a result. All courtesy of proximity control, lane holding assistance, blind spot warning and braking path optimisation functions.
The main functions at a glance: DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control helps the driver to keep a preset distance from the vehicle in front or to maintain a selected desired speed. The new Steering Assist sub-function also takes the road markings into account, helping the driver to stay in lane. Active Blind Spot Assist uses radar and monitors the blind spot areas to the left, right and rear of the vehicle. If a vehicle is detected within the monitored range, a warning symbol is displayed in the driver's exterior mirror. Should the driver overlook the warning and start to change lanes, the system can intervene actively with the help of ESP®.
Active Lane Keeping Assist continuously registers the lane markings. Should the system identify that the vehicle is drifting over a line or markings in an uncontrolled manner, it can counteract this with an active braking intervention
The BAS PLUS predictive brake assist system helps the driver in a linear flow of traffic with vehicles or stationary obstacles ahead in the event of impending rear-end collisions by supplying the required braking force if the driver initiates emergency braking. With Cross-Traffic Assist, objects and/or pedestrians crossing ahead are also taken account of. The PRE-SAFE® brake can help prevent rear-end collisions. The system issues a warning to alert the driver if it detects the immediate risk of a rear-end collision. Should the driver fail to react to an additional haptic signal, PRE-SAFE® Brake will if necessary trigger an autonomous emergency stop. For the first time, this also takes into account any pedestrians recognised. The PRE-SAFE® PLUS function enhances the vehicle's anticipatory occupant protection in the event of an imminent rear impact. To do this, the area behind the vehicle is continually monitored by multi-mode radar sensors, and a calculation made as to whether the vehicle behind poses a collision threat. On the basis of this information, various measures are introduced in stages which can ideally prevent an imminent collision or reduce potential injuries for the vehicle occupants. The radar-based collision warning system COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST can increase driver safety and ride comfort. The driver can be warned by the dynamic collision warning feature if the distance from the vehicles in front or stationary obstacles is too short. The adaptive Brake Assist system can help the driver to brake the vehicle if danger is detected.
| | Dynamic Handling package[2], [3] Sporty driving can actually get even sportier. With the new Dynamic Handling package you'll have more fun at the wheel – and with just the touch of a button. That's because you decide which suspension and transmission set-ups should be used. In SPORT mode ("S") the system adjusts the firmness of the damping and even sharpens the accelerator response and the transmission gearshift points so that you feel the response from the engine more acutely. Comfort mode ("C")provides the feeling of a particularly smooth and comfortable ride.
Regardless of the driving mode you select, the electronically regulated damping system always adjusts to the driving situation and road conditions. This increases tyre comfort and driving safety, but above all the vehicle's agility.
The more direct steering ratio is part of the Dynamic Handling package. The changed characteristic curve of the steering results in a particularly sporty steering feel.
| | The Memory Package makes frequent switches between drivers much more convenient. It stores individual driver and front-passenger seat settings for up to three people. The driver simply chooses a setting at the push of a button and the seats (including both electrically adjustable four-way lumbar supports), steering column and exterior mirrors are automatically restored to the previously stored positions. The PRE-SAFE® positioning function can also move the front-passenger seat into a more "favourable" crash position in critical situations.
| | Parking package with 360-degree camera The Parking package helps the driver in tight parking and manoeuvring situations and comes with an innovation: A 360-degree camera system displays the vehicle's surroundings from a bird's-eye perspective on the screen of the COMAND Online multimedia system. Monitoring all four sides of the vehicle makes it easier to judge all manoeuvring situations. It can warn drivers visually and audibly of obstacles in front of and behind the vehicle, helping to prevent damage when manoeuvring.
This includes:
360-degree camera: the system comprises a short-range camera system with four cameras and a control unit, which together can provide a bird's-eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings. One camera is located in a central location in the radiator grille, one in each exterior mirror and one centred in the boot lid. The 'virtual viewpoint' created by the camera images covers an area of about three metres in front of the vehicle and behind. The image is displayed on the head unit screen. When reversing or parking, additional guide lines, already familiar from the reversing camera function, are displayed to help orientation and the parking manoeuvre. The swept area when turning the wheel is shown along the sides of the vehicle. By default the camera image is switched automatically with the selected gear (forward/reverse). The four camera views can also be selected individually through the central controls in the head unit.
Active Parking Assist Active Parking Assist uses six ultrasonic sensors in the front bumper and six in the rear bumper to identify suitable parking spaces when the vehicle is travelling at speeds between 0 and 35 km/h. The automatic parking space search function is indicated by a "P" symbol in the instrument cluster. If Active Parking Assist has found a parking space, an arrow appears next to the "P". By default, Active Parking Assist searches for parking spaces on the right-hand side of the road. If the indicator on the driver's side is active, parking spaces on the left-hand side are also detected The driver starts the parking manoeuvring process by stopping ahead of the indicated parking space, selecting reverse and confirming the prompt which appears in the instrument cluster. Active Parking Assist steers up to a speed of 10 km/h. The driver only operates the accelerator and the brake pedal. The parking manoeuvre is completed in a maximum of 5 moves. The final parking move is indicated by the message "Parking Assist complete" in the display. This message is accompanied by an acoustic signal.< For the first time the E-Class furthermore offers the functions automatic parking and leaving a parking space with active steering and brake intervention as well as an additional lateral protection against obstacles located to the sides. PARKTRONIC: The system gives visible and audible signals to warn of obstacles it detects in front of the vehicle and behind. It is active up to a speed of about 18 km/h.

| | The automatic dimming function for the interior/exterior mirrors on the driver’s side help to enhance safety and comfort. The exterior mirrors can be completely folded in/out electrically from the comfort of the operating panel. Whether you’re negotiating narrow entries and exits, parking the car or going through an automatic car wash, this preventive mirror casing provides significant protection against damage which helps you to minimise repair costs.<br />

| | The Lane Tracking package makes a decisive contribution to road safety: the Lane Keeping Assist function can detect the unintentional crossing of lane markings and warns the driver, while the Blind Spot Assist system monitors the critical sectors to the right and left of the vehicle.
- Safe driving: The Lane Keeping Assist warns the driver by means of a discreet vibration of the steering wheel as soon as he unintentionally drifts across the lane markings which have been registered by the system, and leaves the current lane. If the turn indicator is operated or the steering wheel is turned with determination, the system assumes that the lane change is intentional and does not emit a warning.
- Digital eyes: The Blind Spot Assist system can warn the driver against dangerous lane changes if another road user is present in the critical area to the right or left of the vehicle.

AGILITY CONTROL sports suspension[4] Here's where it gets sporty. If you want an even sportier drive with the E-Class Cabriolet, then we have the exactly the right one for you. With AGILITY CONTROL sports suspension the springs and shock absorbers are even more tightly tuned compared with the standard-fit AGILITY CONTROL suspension. This leads – especially when the driving style is dynamic – to reduced rolling motions and improved handling. The even more direct steering ratio supplements the suspension by enabling a more spontaneous transfer of the steering movements to the road.

Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus The new Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus (available as an optional extra in conjunction with the LED Intelligent Light System) can dip the headlamps as required and adjust the range of the dipped headlamps to match the distance from illuminated oncoming vehicles or vehicles up ahead. In addition to the familiar automatic high-beam range adjustment of the Adaptive Highbeam Assist with soft transitions and adaptive dipped-beam headlamp range control, a section of the high-beam light cone is blocked out in the event of oncoming vehicles or vehicles travelling ahead. The edge of the carriageway is illuminated by the high beams without blinding other road users. For this purpose the appropriate sections of the light cone of the LED headlamps are blocked out by a drum. To keep drivers from blinding themselves, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus dims the high beams in case of highly reflective signs.
| | Active Parking Assist, including PARKTRONIC Active Parking Assist helps the driver when searching for a parking place and when parking. With its ultrasonic sensors the system can detect whether a lengthways or side-on parking space is large enough.
Active Parking Assist makes a major contribution to safe and comfortable driving. It helps drivers find suitable parallel and perpendicular parking spaces and helps them to park and to leave a parking space by active steering and brake interventions. The integral PARKTRONIC warns of obstacles in front of the vehicle and behind.
The driver starts the parking manoeuvring process by stopping ahead of the indicated parking space, selecting reverse and confirming the prompt which appears in the instrument cluster. Active Parking Assist takes steering into the parking space by means of steering motors (at speeds of up to 10 km/h). The driver only operates the accelerator and the brake pedal.
| | ACSR automatic child seat recognition in passenger seat for Mercedes-Benz-approved child seats with transponder The automatic child seat recognition system detects child seats with a transponder from the Mercedes-Benz accessories range and automatically deactivates the front passenger airbag.
An aerial integrated in the front-passenger seat emits signals. Transponders in the special child seat models from the Mercedes-Benz accessories range detect these signals and send a feedback signal. Based on this feedback signal, the automatic child seat recognition system deactivates the front-passenger airbag, regardless of whether the child seat is installed facing the front or rear. An indicator lamp lights up to confirm that the airbag has been deactivated. The belt tensioner and the other airbags on the front-passenger side – such as the sidebag, pelvisbag and headbag – remain active in order to protect the child. The front-passenger airbag is reactivated automatically after the child seat has been removed.
| | Fire extinguisher mounted at front of driver’s seat | | LED Intelligent Light System Improved vision at dusk, dawn and at night, optimised visibility for other road users and intelligent road illumination without dazzling other road users: this systems makes an important contribution to safe driving as the best possible light quality is provided for every driving situation.
The LED Intelligent Light System comprises LED dipped beams. high beams, turn indicators, daytime running lamps, position markers and cornering light, variable light distribution for country roads, motorways and dense fog, active light function, dynamic headlamp range adjustment and cornering light function.
- Bringing light to the darkness: in country mode the light from the low-beam headlamps is distributed such that the left edge of the carriageway is significantly better illuminated than with conventional headlamps.
- Increasing dynamically: The motorway mode is automatically activated in two steps: from 90 km/h the system boosts the power of the bi-xenon lamps. From 110 km/h the setting of the headlamp on the inside of the traffic lane also changes to illuminate the entire width of the lane uniformly for a distance of up to around 120 metres.
- Enhancing safety: the system improves visibility in fog with the enhanced fog lamp. for this purpose the left LED headlamp tilts outwards and the light cone is simultaneously tilted down. This light function is automatically activated as soon as the rear fog lamp is switched on and the vehicle is not travelling faster than 70 km/h.
- Following every bend: the active light function follows the driver's steering angle: sensor data on steering angle, yaw rate and vehicle speed prompt the headlamps to pivot to the side in fractions of a second as soon as the vehicle starts to corner. With the cornering light function the cornering lamps automatically switch on when the driver activates the indicator or turns the steering wheel.
- Enhancing your own visibility: The LED daytime running lamps make the vehicle more visible to other road users. The front side markers, the tail lamps, the turn indicators and the licence plate lamp are also designed in LED technology.

| | | | Run-flat tyres instead of TIREFIT tyre sealant[4] This tyre is a 'self-supporting tyre' (generally known as a 'run flat'). The rigid tyre side wall takes over the supportive function of the tyre should it become deflated. These tyres fit all Mercedes-Benz wheels which are suited for run-flat operation in the corresponding dimensions, including accessory wheels. They make it possible to remove oneself from a dangerous situation (for example, tunnels or bridges) and drive to the nearest workshop without having to stop immediately and change the tyre oneself.
| | Reversing camera with dynamic guide lines in display The reversing camera offers convenience and added safety. Integrated into the boot lid, the camera transmits an image of the area behind the vehicle to the central COMAND Online multimedia system (optional extra). The camera image not only makes parking easier but also aids in manoeuvring on terrain with visibility restrictions.
New optics with digital image transfer and additional electronic zoom functions ensure an optimum image in all driving situations. When manoeuvring, the driver can select the "back-in" mode, in which dynamic guide lines indicate the respective path of the vehicle.
If the vehicle is fitted with a trailer coupling, a further mode is made available. In "Back-in" mode the driver is initially assisted in backing up to the drawbar properly aligned through the marking of the vehicle's centre axis. Once he is close to the trailer, "Zoom mode" enables him to align the vehicle with absolute precision. The driver is helped by a dynamic guide line which shows the path of the trailer coupling at the respective steering angle.

| | Sidebags in the rear, left and right The sidebags in the rear are stored behind the wheel arch lining. When they are deployed during a side collision they provide potential protection for the chest area of the rear-seat passengers.
They are triggered when the central control unit and the side satellite sensors register acceleration or deceleration forces acting on the vehicle in excess of a certain threshold. The sidebags deploy at chest height between the vehicle side and the occupants.
| | Traffic Sign Assist, road sign recognition and display of speed limits in instrument cluster This expanded system is based on the existing Speed Limit Assist system. The traffic signs are recognised optically by a camera system installed behind the windscreen.
The functionality of the system has been extended to include, apart from traffic signs as up to the present, "no overtaking" and "no entry" signs as well as the respective signs lifting the restrictions. The traffic signs detected are compared with the traffic signs stored in the system, and displayed if they coincide. Apart from a plausibility check against the signs stored in it, the system also makes use of data from the navigation system.

| | THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control[2] The THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control system allows the driver and front passenger to adapt the climate in their respective seats to suit their individual requirements – independently of each other. The system keeps the temperature at the desired level automatically, even in strong sunlight.
To this end, sensors register the temperature inside and outside the vehicle, controlling the heating, cooling and fan for each temperature zone individually, according to requirements.
- To suit every taste: There are three climate styles (DIFFUSE, MEDIUM and FOCUS) available for selection in automatic mode. You can use these styles to adjust the interior climate to your individual preferences. Factors such as outside temperature, humidity and sunlight are taken into account. A diffuser panel on the dashboard reduces draughts.
- Clean air: Dust and noxious-gas sensors guarantee that virtually all the pollutants remain outside. If required the air vents can close automatically.
- Pleasant climate in the second row as well: Passengers in the rear seats have the option of individually controlling the climate control for the rear area: intensity, direction and desired temperature can be conveniently set at the push of a button.

| | Heated multifunction steering wheel The multifunction steering wheel has a heating function which can heat the steering wheel rim up to 37 degrees Celsius, the steering-wheel gearshift paddles can be used to manually operate the gears of the transmission and twelve function buttons adjust the display menu in the instrument cluster and the volume control for the radio.
The steering wheel heating is switched on with a rotary switch behind the multifunction steering wheel. A heat mat inside the multifunction steering wheel heats up the steering wheel rim to a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, and then goes into control mode. The temperature then oscillates between 34 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius. If the steering wheel heating is no longer needed, it must be switched off manually.

| | Climate-controlled front seats, seat heating and ventilation, perforated leather The climatised seats improve ride comfort and reduce transpiration thanks to a pleasant air flow and selectable seat heating. Fans integrated in the seat upholstery uniformly distribute a flow of air in three intensity levels under the leather backrest and cushion covers. The air flows through the fine perforation and quickly cools the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature – even if the vehicle has been heated by an intense amount of sunlight for a longer period of time. On cold days you can turn on the three-level adjustable seat heating.
| | The ski bag holds up to four pairs of skis and is accessible from the boot. In this way the skis are protected from soiling during the journey, and thanks to the absence of a roof carrier system the vehicle’s aerodynamic profile is not impaired, which means there is no increase in fuel consumption. The ski bag allows for easy loading and unloading of sports equipment, and does not affect either the seat position of the front seats or that of the two rear seats. With the help of the retaining strap or retaining bracket the ski bag is secured in the footwell.
