New seats were designed for the E-Class to meet the highest requirements for seating comfort, ergonomics and safety.

The standard-specification seats with distinctively contoured upholstery allow for relaxed driving on long journeys and provide maximum support when driving more rigorously. Active multicontour seats are available as an option for the driver and front passenger. Their separately controlled air chambers can be configured to suit an individual’s stature and the seat side bolsters adapt automatically and dynamically to the driving situation. Seat cushion depth, seat side bolsters and lumbar support can all be adjusted pneumatically. Additional comfort is provided by a dynamic seven-zone massage function. And safety is enhanced by the NECK-PRO luxury head restraints. These are just some of the reasons why the active multicontour seats were awarded the seal of quality by the Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V., a German association promoting products for healthy backs.

The front seats are optionally available with a full electrical adjustment. The switches for this are clearly arranged in the doors. If the optional Memory package is ordered, a total of three position settings can be stored for the front seats, the head restraints, the steering column and the exterior mirrors. A folding third seat bench with two additional seats for occupants with a maximum height of 140 cm (or weight 50 kg) are also optionally available.
