More light in the interior: there is a choice of two optional electrically-operated roof systems for the E-Class Estate. A newly-developed self-deploying wind deflector ensures quieter running when the roof is open, while heat insulating glass protects against too strong solar radiation. In addition the roof systems are equipped with an anti-entrapment feature and can be moved to the summer opening position and closed using the electronic ignition key.

The glass sliding sunroof takes driving enjoyment to new heights. Thanks to a newly developed function, the automatic opening and closing can take it to the position which was selected last.

A panoramic sliding sunroof with optimised net wind deflector is also available as an option. The large glass windows provide optimum visibility and light and a more generous sense of space in all the seats. When the roof is open the interior can be supplied with fresh air according to requirements using the different opening positions. Two roller blinds colour-coordinated with the interior appointments can also be closed using one-touch control if the sun is shining too brightly. Trap guards for the glass unit and roller blinds ensure the necessary safety and ease of operation.
