6-cylinder petrol engine

The 6-cylinder engine of the new ML 350 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY is equipped with the latest BlueDIRECT technology and delivers fast responsiveness, extremely smooth running and excellent fuel economy. These innovations stem from the research results of the engine development engineers at Mercedes-Benz, true to Gottlieb Daimler’s motto: “The best or nothing.”

  • For the environment: a further-developed spray-guided combustion process and high-pressure injection using piezo injectors contribute towards a reduction in fuel consumption along with the standard-fit ECO start/stop function. A completely new air and exhaust gas system, regulated auxiliary components, intelligent alternator management and consistent implementation of lightweight construction principles help the driver in efficient everyday driving. The petrol engine of the M-Class meets the requirements of the Euro V emissions class.
  • Sporty and efficient: The engine with spray-guided petrol direct injection has an output of 225 kW and consumes up to 20 percent less fuel than comparable predecessors. The model impresses with correspondingly lower CO2 emissions and significantly enhanced dynamism.
  • Power at all times: maximum torque across a particularly broad engine speed range, ensuring that exceptional power reserves are available for every handling scenario.
  • Unmistakeable: The 6-cylinder versions are not only particularly economical in terms of fuel consumption – they can also be identified on sight by their sporty twin-pipe exhaust system.
