Powerful and fuel-efficient

Agility and efficiency go hand in hand, as demonstrated by the petrol engines of the new C-Class Coupé. Both the 4-cylinder models and the V6 engine stand for a high level of refinement combined with low fuel consumption.

4-cylinder petrol engines The latest generation of 4-cylinder engines is pursuing an important target: to produce greater power and acceleration with lower fuel consumption. This target is being reached with ease thanks to the BlueEFFICIENCY technologies - which include the ECO start/stop function - and other improvements, which mean they now need significantly less fuel. You can choose between the following models: C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY and C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY. High performance potential: the C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.0 (8.9) seconds, while the C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY can do the same in only 7.2 seconds. ECO start/stop function as standard: It reduces fuel consumption and vehicle emissions by switching off the engine when the vehicle is at a standstill or coasting to a stop.
6-cylinder petrol engine Economical, clean and high-torque: the new 6-cylinder petrol engine is the embodiment of a technological generational change - right through to drive concepts that are sparing in their use of resources. The engine boasts impressive output data. With a combined consumption of 6.8–7.0 l/100 km, the engine reaches a maximum output of 225 kW and can accelerate the new C-Class Coupé from 0 to 100 km/h in barely 6.0 seconds[1]. The maximum torque of 370 Newton metres creates a particularly wide engine speed range, so that impressive reserves of power are available for every driving situation. The model available is the C 350 BlueEFFICIENCY. Precise fuel usage and low consumption thanks to the standard-fit ECO start/stop function: Continuously variable camshaft adjustment and direct petrol injection of the third generation use spray-guided combustion and piezo injectors to ensure that consumption stays low.
8-cylinder petrol engine A high-revving naturally aspirated engine with thoroughbred motor-racing technology: the AMG V8 naturally aspirated engine in the C 63 AMG displays an impressive range of technological highlights. As a result the engine can deliver strong output figures. With 336 kW and torque of 600 Newton metres the C 63 AMG can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds (4.3 seconds in conjunction with the optional AMG Performance Package). At the same time the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions with a combined 12.0 l/100 km and 280 g/km have been kept low, especially considering the above-average driving dynamics. The model available is the C 63 AMG. Optimum charging: use of the eight cylinders is optimised via the vertical arrangement of the intake and exhaust ducts as well as the magnesium variable-intake manifold with two integrated throttle valves. High-tech as standard: variable camshaft adjustment, 4 valves per cylinder, the stiff aluminium crankcase and the low-friction TWAS (twin-wire-arc-spraying) coating used for the cylinder walls.
